FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

At Areva Design, we understand that navigating design, engineering and permitting can raise a lot of questions. We know that every project comes with its own set of questions. Thus, we have compiled answers to the most frequently asked topics to give you clarity on how we work and what you can expect.

Do you handle permit applications? Yes. We manage the entire permit process, from preparing city-compliant drawings to submitting applications and responding to city feedback.

How long does the design and permit process take? Timelines vary by project type and location, but most residential permits take 2-6 weeks after submission. Commercial and industrial permits can take longer depending on complexity and municipal requirements.

How much involvement do I need during the design process? It is up to you. Some clients are very hands on, while others prefer us to take the lead. We will adapt to your preferred level of involvement.

How do you handle revisions after a permit is issued? We can submit revised drawings to the city if your plans change during construction. We will guide you through the revision or addendum process.

Do you help with selecting materials or structural systems for the project? Yes. This is a key part of our design process. We assess each projects functional requirements, budget, site conditions, and aesthetics to recommend appropriate systems. One of our specialties is prefabricated steel, which is an efficient, durable, and cost effective solution.
